As of April 13, both the Frankfort Youth Tour and Washington Youth Tour have been cancelled due to COVID-19 crisis. Hopefully both will resume in 2021.
Kentucky Rural Electric Washington Youth Tour is an annual week-long, all-expenses paid trip to Washington, D.C., where 6 high school students from our service districts will meet students from across Kentucky as well as 45 other states.
On March 17, 2020, students spend one day in Frankfort, Kentucky’s capital, learning about their state government, touring the capital and meeting with elected officials.
The 2020 Washington Youth Tour dates are June 19-25, 2020. While in Washington, D.C., students will visit many of our nation’s memorials, the U.S. Capitol, Arlington National Cemetery and meet with Kentucky’s national representatives in Congress.
The Washington Youth Tour is sponsored by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA), the Kentucky Electric Cooperatives , and Kentucky’s electric distribution cooperatives.
