History of Commitment
We have been committed to our community from the beginning. In 2008, a small group of employees started our first Christmas Blessings silent auction. This auction was used to raise money to purchase toys and clothes for families in need for Christmas. Over the years, the program has grown from a tiny employee group to an official 501(c)(3) charity that includes a Board of Directors with the official name of Inter-County Energy Christmas Blessings, Inc. Our charity coordinates with local school districts and nonprofits to provide financial assistance, basic necessities of food, clothing, shoes, and toys to families in need within Boyle, Casey, Garrard, Larue, Lincoln, Madison, Marion, Mercer, Nelson, Rockcastle, Taylor, and Washington Counties. Inter-County Energy Christmas Blessings, Inc. has provided assistance to nearly two hundred families, senior adults, and veterans.
In addition to providing Christmas assistance, Inter-County Energy Christmas Blessings, Inc., is a host to several other events. In the spring we have Treats with the Easter Bunny, late summer we partner with Heart of Kentucky United Way on various projects, and in the winter, we have Sweets with Santa for everyone to enjoy, free of charge. There is no way we could continue to help those in need without the help of the communities we serve. We are very grateful for the auction donors that continue to support our program.
