Electric cooperatives have sustainable, reliable power to fit Kentucky industries’ needs

As a recent article pointed out, at least one large industrial company is poised to make major investments in Kentucky, and East Kentucky Power Cooperative has a key piece of the puzzle to make it happen. Although the Courier-Journal article bemoaned Kentucky’s lack of green power resources, the fact is that EKPC announced plans to develop two new major solar farms in Kentucky on the very day the article was published. More are on the way.

EKPC already is deploying a strategy to add 1,000 megawatts of solar resources, a plan that was years in the making. It is part of our mission to provide reliable, competitive, sustainable electricity for 1.1 million people and thousands of businesses served by our owner-member electric cooperatives, Kentucky’s Touchstone Energy Cooperatives.
