Federal policy puts our reliable electric grid at risk. Kentucky politicians speak out.

Reducing greenhouse gases and diversifying energy sources is imperative. But, current renewable energy sources can't handle our electrical grid's demand.   Chris Perry, Opinion Contributor

I am writing with an urgent warning and a plea for all Kentuckians and all Americans to join me in calling for a reasonable and rational plan to literally keep the lights on.

The reliable electric grid in America has spent a century building is at risk. Our nation relies on this grid for every facet of our lives: Food, safe drinking water, schools, hospitals, industries and general well-being. Yes, there are a hearty few who are equipped to survive off the grid, but most Americans depend on reliable and affordable electric service in their daily lives.
